Risikat I. Okedeyi, 39 – Hyattsville (Arts and Humanities)

Risikat I. Okedeyi is a first generation Nigerian-American with an undergraduate degree from University of Maryland-College Park, and a master’s degree from The Ohio State University. A long-time Prince George’s County resident, Risikat shares her time between two passions–teaching and creating. She is currently an associate professor in the English department at Prince George’s Community College where she teaches courses in composition writing and literature. Risikat is also owner of LiL SoSo Productions, LLC (www.lilsoso.com) where she combines culture with high-quality nightlife aesthetics and works with artists and creatives in various branding and administrative capacities. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Artomatic, a non-juried event that showcases creative work in visual art, music, film, performance, and fashion; and hosts her own online radio show, “The LSP Effect,” which airs live every Wednesday at 1pm on www.rocktheflow.com  from The Flow studios in Largo, MD.
